Bilateral Simultaneous Treatment
Bilateral Simultaneous Treatment is deciding whether to have both eyes done at the same time or just one at a time. There are many pros and cons about this:
- You could get a infection in both eyes at the same time
- Doing one at a time can give the doctor a better idea on how the surgery did in the first one and make adjustments for the second eye
- You may not recover as fast and this would make it hard to see, so having one done at a time would give you vision with one during the healing
- You may not be able to come in for two separate surgeries
- You would miss less work having both done at the same time
- Some doctors give discounts if you have both done at the same time
