Are you a candidate for LASIK surgery?
Good Candidates for Lasik surgery are those that:
- are at least 18 years old
- 21 years of age for some lasers
- are not pregnant
- are not breast feeding
- are not taking some prescription drugs, such as Accutane
- Eyes must be healthy and your prescription stable.
- Should be in good general health
Lasik surgery is not recommended for individuals with:
- Diabetes
- rheumatoid arthritis
- Lupus
- Glaucoma
- Herpes infections of the eye
- Cataracts
If you have any questions concerning your chances to have lasik surgery, you should discuss this with your surgeon. Your surgeon should be able to give you detailed information to the reason you are a good candidate or why lasik surgery is not a good option. |
