Cataract Laser Surgery
Cataract surgery can be performed as an outpatient and is a fairly simple surgery. You can be in and out within half hour and recovery is fairly fast as well. Cataract surgery is never performed with a laser. It is performed with an instrument called a phacoemulsifier.
Laser surgery can be performed after the cataract surgery to make your vision clear again, since after the surgery it will be cloudy. What happens after surgery? Here are a few things to remember:
- immediate improvement in sight
- few more floaters in your eye
- return to your daily activities straight away
- arrange for someone to drive you to and from the hospital
So having cataract surgery will improve your eye site and you will feel much better. Just remember if you are having any problems consult your doctor immediately and do not wait. |
