Lasik surgery terms A to D
Here are the common terms you will hear or see on your many trips to the doctor before, during, and after your surgery. Now, you will know what they mean.
- Ablate- means to remove
- Ablation zone- this is the area that is removed
- Accommodation- this is what makes the eye change from distant to near focus
- Acuity- sharpness of vision
- Astigmatism- farsightedness
- Cornea- this is the front part of your eye that is clear
- Diopter- measurement of the refractive error
- Dry eye Syndrome- sometimes after surgeries some of the patients cannot produce enough tears to keep the eye moist
