Lasik surgery terms H to I
Here are the common terms you will hear or see on your many trips to the doctor before, during, and after your surgery. Now, you will know what they mean.
- Halos- you will see rings around lights from the imperfection on the optical
- Haze-you will think you are looking through smoke or a cloud
- Higher order aberrations- refractive errors, other than nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, which cannot be corrected with glasses or contacts.
- Hyperopia- can see near objects as well as you can things far away.
- Inflammation- the body's reaction to trauma, infection, often associated with pain, heat, redness, swelling.
- Informed Consent Form-you sign this form saying you understand what the risks, benefits, and alternatives to the lasik surgery.
- In Situ- means not removed.
- Iris- this is the ring of tissue behind the cornea that gives you the color of your eyes.
