Monovision with LASIK

As we get older, our eyes start to deteriorate and we need to use glasses for reading or up close work. This is what monovision surgery does:
  • Reduces the need for reading glasses, bifocals and trifocals
  • Can not be 100% but helps with the use of contacts after surgery
  • It will correct one eye while leaving the other alone.
  • It is usually the dominate one

When only having one eye done after 6-8 weeks the brain makes the vision changes it needs to so you can see properly. Monovision makes it possible for you to change focus repeatedly without having to put your contact in and out. There are a few cons about monovision as well as all the pros. Your depth perception may become off. You may have a bit of blurred vision in the other eye you did not have surgery on.
