Possible serious complications
Like any surgery you have, there are always some risks that may occur. With Lasik eye surgery, the possible serious complications include:
- May lose vision
- Severe dry eye
- You may still need contacts after surgery
- You may have some glare or halos that would affect your night vision
- Very few end up with 20/20 and you may need more treatments
- If you are far-sighted, it may not help as you get older and your results will weaken.
- Lasers are still relatively new and not all the information on long-term results is in.
Prior to eye surgery, you should talk with your health care provider and then the eye surgeon to learn what complications may occur. |
