Presby LASIK

Presby Lasik, or multifocal Lasik as the majority of people call it, is an experimental laser surgery for correcting vision. The procedure changes the shape of the cornea to create different areas called zones for seeing up close or far away.

The procedure:

  • Laser energy is used to reshape different zones
  • The light is bent or refracted differently in each area
  • Both close up and far away vision can be achieved at the same time

Studied are still being performed at this time however, there are different procedures being considered at this time, which included:

  • Outer periphery
  • Central zone
  • Peripheral area
  • aspheric corrections to the surface of the eyes
